After the project is done let down.....

So I completed the Dreamcatcher project and now I'm
suffering from project let down. That is the
feeling you get when you have immersed yourself in
one project and don't have a new one to immerse
yourself in again yet! :)

There are six other projects pending - pending
people getting their pics to me! I know I am not
the only procrastinator out there! In the meantime
I am plotting my own personal projects. I don't
seem to have the same motivation to do my own as I
do others - that's some kind of strange I think.

I am getting closer to posting new pics on the
site. Can't wait!

On the home stretch .....

The current Dreamcatcher project is almost
completed! It has had a few delays but overall it
has gone very well.

This project was very unique and I completely
enjoyed finding new paper I have never used before
and other new layout ideas - pushing outside the
box is a total thrill for me! One of the challenges
was the color "orange" which I usually really do
not like personally plus I haven't worked on a
wedding album that included orange :) But it has
been FUN!

I am very pleased and hope the bride & groom are as
well :)

The business grows in itty bitty spurts. Every once
in awhile someone will enquire about what I do :) I
try not to gush - it's hard when you enjoy
something so much - you want everyone else to enjoy
it just as much!

On the technical side - highspeed is getting closer
- hoping to soon have access and then be able to
really fill the site with examples of my work :)

Just posted a new Summer Sale - any size album, any
theme, ordered over the summer will be $15 off!

The only pitfall is not enough time! Life and work
just seems to get in the way! ha ha!

Happy Summer :)

Browsing around in Nfld :)

We are spending this week in Nfld and I finally got
up the nerve to venture out in the rental car, on
my own, to find The Paperie :)

I have read about this store in the Canadian
Scrapbooker magazine and Mapquest said it was just
minutes away! After getting turned around a couple
of times I finally found it :)

The proprietor of the scrap shop was friendly and
happy to chat with me; she and her niece opened The
Paperie five years ago. It is a brightly lit, open
concept area with lots of interesting paper (of
course) and some other neat items I normally hadn't
seen back home. They have a whole seating area
where folks can go and sit and crop just on their
own time, with a play area beside it for the
children. It was a "buzzing" place with several
ladies sharing some time and the little ones
playing nearby. I was wishing I had packed my scrap
gear instead of a suitcase!

I was able to find some unique paper to add to the
current wedding album project I have on the go :)
Can't wait to get home and add some more layouts!

We have two more days to discover a few other
NON-scrappy sights :) See you on the mainland bye!

Creative Juices flowing.....

As I have opportunity to spend time at my scrap
tables, I am enjoying the process of immersing
myself in a new wedding album project :)

This album has a very natural setting and it is
opening a new direction of creativity :)

I have added a guest book to my site; in hopes of
getting some feed back on what folks are thinking
when they visit.

One frustration that is ongoing for me with regards
to the site is the difficulty in getting photos
uploaded. We hear rumors that high speed internet
will be coming soon to our area which will
eliminate the dial-up frustrations!!!!

Here's hoping all the moms I know have a wonderful
Mother's Day tomorrow!

Inspiration & Ideas

I find that I am always gathering info and ideas
for inspiration when I finally get seated at my
scrap table. I enjoy the process almost as much as
the actual hands on project. Being able to mentally
picture layouts and gather materials along the way
is part of how my mind works :)

I get a LOT of ideas from the Canadian Scrapbooker
quarterly magazine along with the Basic companion
books they have been releasing. I am going to try
some new techniques on the next wedding album I
have lined up. Making my own pattern paper is one
item I want to do more of - I tried it on one
layout in the last project and I thoroughly enjoyed
it! Practice makes perfect!

I have the Disney supplies on hand now and just
waiting for the pics to go with that album project.

I am also waiting for pics for two more projects -
it is funny how people procrastinate a great deal
even with just the first step in scrap booking!
Gathering the pics. I know this is a really big
step. And yet, it is so rewarding if you relax and
allow yourself to enjoy that experience. Those
memories, whether happy or of days missed in the
past, are precious and important to preserve for
the future. The best advice is to just take the
step - just set aside an hour one day to tackle the
boxes or envelopes and sort for one hour.

On that note - I set off to sort through piles of
supplies I've been setting to the side - I have
some procrastination issues of my own :)

New Projects in view

I cannot convey the pure thrill I experienced
today. A lady handed me her bridal photos and I am
about to embark on a brand new bridal album project
!!! It is like a blank canvas spread before me. It
is up to me to return the many photos to her in a
completed album she is anticipating being able to
share with friends and family alike. Even her hubby
is excited :) That warms the heart. I am ready and
up for the challenge of 100% satisfaction! If it
doesn't please me, I don't expect it to please my
clients!

I also anticipate proceeding with the Disney
vacation album project in the coming month. That is
a whole new challenge to look forward to! I cannot
wait!

I am thinking of seeking pet minded folks next - I
am itching to complete a pet album - I know several
friends who have "children" of the four legged
variety whom they adore - a pet album would be
perfect for them!

I also aspire to complete a grad album - before we
know it, the season of grads and weddings will be
upon us! Just a blink - or a click - away :)

Happy Scrapbooking!

Love is in the air

As Valentine's Day approaches, I am thinking how
important it is to show the ones you love how much
you care each and every day; not just one day a year.

Also, I am reminded of how important it is to
preserve the loving memories in albums that will
last a lifetime!

Creating wedding albums gives me a glimpse into
many loving moments that others are so gracious to
allow me share. I can truly say that each new
project is a new joy for me as a scrapartist.

I was unable to attend the 2009 Bridal Show event
in January, however, I am pleased to announce that
there was a winner of a complimentary Dreamcatcher
Pkg. I look forward to hearing from the future
bride in the coming months :) Congratulations Ms.
Geddes.

I look forward to sharing new examples of my work
on my site in the coming months as well. It is a
challenge for me to get successful shots taken of
my layouts and another challenge to get them posted
online using dial-up. However, I am determined to
conquer both!

I expect to be starting a new project soon as I was
in contact with a recent bride who has agreed to
allow me to do her wedding album - I am totally
excited :)

I also have a request for a Disney album as the
result of a donation to a charity auction - I have
always wanted to do a Disney album !

There is no end to the new work that is to be done!
Here's to many more loving memories & completed
albums in 2009 :)

A New Year Approaches

It was a whirlwind of activity for this scrap
artist as the final moments of the holiday approached!

I was able to complete the Dreamcatcher album on
time and send it on it's way to the happy bride. I
await to hear her reaction....

I also completed two 7x7 sets of album pages; gifts
for a client to give her grandsons.

I truly am a procrastinator and I have to really
work on that in the coming weeks, months and year.

I was totally shocked and excited to receive a
Cricut Expressions Machine! A group gift from my
parents and sister!!! Never in my wildest dreams
would I have expected something so extravagant!I am
very blessed. I will be able to learn how to create
amazing new things for new projects :)

I donated another Basic Book album pkg for a
Christmas charity auction. I look forward to
fulfilling the winning bid in 2009:)

I am still waiting for wedding pictures from
another auction coupon winner last year. Another
procrastinator like me I think ;)

I continue to devour every new issue of Canadian
Scrapbooker and their new Scrapbooking basics
editions as well. The last issue contained valuable
information on adding stamping to scrapbook
projects. I was able to use this technique to
create my own page patterns for the Dreamcatcher
album. It added dimension and fun to the pages.

I don't know what the new year will hold but I hope
it will contain many new opportunities to scrap,
scrap, scrap!

Gonna scrap around the clock!

As the holidays approach, I am scrapbooking around
the clock :)

I am in the final stages of completing a
Dreamcatcher wedding album. It is a thrill to watch
each new created page. The outcome, in some
instances, is more than I imagine and it is a thrill.

I have two small family albums to complete. The
time is winding down but I love every minute at my
table.

I lose all track of time as I create page after
page. I am surrounded by all my tools and paper and
embellishments and I am content :)

I did not get home made Christmas cards completed
for my own Christmas list - I only managed to
complete a pkg to send along with the project that
the LSS organized - cards for our Canadian troops
to send to their families. Hundreds of cards were
sent over and we will hope that it made it easier
for our troops to send their love home this year.

I am dreaming of a cricut machine. I have had many
instances where I could have used one. That will be
a new year goal.

I have donated a Basic Book album to a charity
auction again this year. Here's hoping that folks
will recognize value enough to raise the bids to
help a family in need this season.

There is always a scrapbook magazine on my night
stand - even when I am not actually scrapbooking, I
am thinking about it or reading about it - I love
being a scrap artist :)

Slow but Sure

Sometimes the process to creativity is so slow! The
mind is willing but then roadblocks appear to limit
the progress!

I am in the process of trying to move into a larger
and better organized scrap space. However, the
process that was only supposed to take a weekend
has turned into a much longer project!

I also had to conduct a more extensive search for
the perfect wedding album for my new project than I
planned on. BUT, in the end, it was worth the search:)

I am armed with the pictures and the album - now I
just need to round out the paper and also do a
couple more enlargements of photos that I
overlooked on my first trip to the photo kiosk!

I find that I plot and plan pages in my head almost
daily and when I finally get seated back at my
table I can hardly scrap fast enough to keep up
with the ideas that are bursting at the seams :)

I also plan to complete some Christmas cards for a
project that my LSS has headed up to give our
troops cards to send to their families. I have a
month to get those completed!

Here's to tons of new scrap time in my new space soon!
